When spelunking. My grandmother relayed recently a story of her childhood that involved her father punishing her for wearing pants. Her excuse is that her teacher forced her to while on a spelunking trip that would require crawling on hands and knees.
Pants are very tasteful in space! Imagine a dress in zero gravity.
